Let’s do some Engineering!

Solving engineering problems

The Engineering team of Photonics is established from aviation engineers with many years of experience in the aviation industry all around the world. They are capable of solving sophisticated tasks by finding suitable solutions.

Product Lifecycle

You have an idea for a project?

In this case you can reach us and we can make it a reality. Our team of engineers could accompany you from the very beginning of the project to a finished product. Below you can check the chart, which we call the product lifecycle, which includes each step for developing a product. No matter on which step your idea is we could always help you to achieve your goals.

Product design

Designing the product is the first step toward the realisation from an initial idea to a finished product. The design of the product is being developed in Computer Aided Design (CAD) software. This allows us to visualise the concept and to develop a full CAD model of the product. Thereby we can eliminate most of the issues related to it’s manufacture process and further exploatation. On this stage our team will help you develop and visualise your own concept.

The next step of the product lifecycle are the Development activities.

Development activities

The development activities encompass a series of metrics directed towards the refinement of both Design and Technical Documentation. Within this phase, our team will generate a prototype of the product, subjecting it to rigorous testing procedures to validate its adherence to intended functionalities. Each product iteration bears unique intricacies that may engender challenges during prototyping. It is incumbent upon us to swiftly address any such issues during this phase to ensure the seamless functionality of the final product. While simpler projects may obviate the need for extensive development activities and prototyping, for complex endeavors, this phase assumes paramount importance.Upon successful completion of this stage, we will be poised to issue comprehensive Design and Technical Documentation.

Design and Technical documentation

The Design and Technical Documenta2on are the backbone of the success of each manufacture process. Without them the manufacturing process won’t be able to begin. This documenta2on includes:

  • Technical drawings
  • 2D source files, which are needed by cuBng and bending machines.
  • 3D output files that are needed by computerised milling machines, 3D printers and other machines. – Technical maps and procedures
  • Technical instruc2ons

Photonics Design Bureau issues Design and Technical Documentation according to the international standards ISO. AJer issuing all the documentation we are ready to begin the Manufacturing process.

Manufacturing

Production is the process of physically creating a product. For a product to be manufactured, several elements are required:

  • Resources and components
  • Production tools – various machines, tools, and equipment
  • Skilled engineers and technologists who work on the creation of the product

The result of the production process is a product that is ready to be put into operation.

We have our own production facility located in the northern region of Sofia Airport. We also maintain relationships with a wide network of partner companies that specialize in manufacturing components for both us and our clients.

Commissioning

The commissioning process is one of the most important stages in the lifecycle of the product, due to highly differentiated specific, which each new product has. This phase includes set of measurements, which aim to ensure a safety and reliability during the exploita2on. Improper commissioning could lead to higher costs, safety risks and lower profits.

Photonics Design Bureau has a wide range of experience with commissioning of products with different purposes. Some of our products could reach a warranty period of 10 years, due to their high durability and reliability. Our team would also support you with After sale technical support.

Technical support

The operation of any product inevitably leads to wear and aging. At Photonics, we design our products with a focus on maximizing ease of maintenance and the replacement of components and consumables that are subject to the most intensive wear. Our team, along with our partners and suppliers, is ready to promptly replace any parts nearing the end of their operational life. We will be there to assist you in the replacement of worn components, ensuring your product continues to function flawlessly and maintain its aesthetic appeal throughout its entire lifecycle.

When the time comes, whether after many years of use or if you decide to change the direction of your business, Photonics will assist you in the resale, decommissioning, or disposal process, ensuring a smooth transition for your product.

Decommissioning and disposing

It is our duty and obligation to leave our environment clean after the product’s lifecycle has come to an end. This is why our team can decommission and dispose each product, which we have designed and manufactured by the most efficient way. This process includes:

  • Dismantling of the equipment and, according to your desire and technical possibility, resale of the components
  • Disassembly and dismantling of all other components of the product
  • Disposal of components that cannot be resold or used for other purposes in the future.
